Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. One of her first Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. In the form of an Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney Digital Television's channels. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the production. Ashford's most recent part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. She was in two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
