Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Audrey's parents, both a dental dentist and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's enthusiasm for drama and theater at a young stage. The support they provided was more than enough to overcome her original goal of becoming a an animal scientist. At the age of a young lady the rise to fame was swift and ended with early recognition and success. When she finished her education, she participated in the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+. She won the Best Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors and started her acting career. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her early years, but now dissociates herself from these upbringings. She pursued a career in modeling alongside her acting career and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. Photographing is also a passion and she recently exhibited her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. The focus of her photography is famous people, the media and press that scrutinised her following her emergence on the scene in the film Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of herself. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring in the role of Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie gained international attention due to its success at the box office. It was also praised in award ceremonies all over the world. Amelie has been the most financially successful film that is French-speak in the US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in a wide range of films including British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code together with Tom Hanks.
