Wanted, a song from the album reached the Top 40 singles chart. Decker had always been known as a Country musician, yet her album was made and was promoted was designed with the attention of pop fans in mind. After two more singles from the album stiffed Decker struggled with the label's management for more control of her music. her subsequent single Boys in the Summer was an album that was more geared towards the country genre. Decker's second album, announced in the form of Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records was shelved after Mercury noticed the weak performance of three singles by Decker in country radio's charts.
