After two more singles from the album stiffed Decker struggled with the label's management for more control of her music. her subsequent single Boys in the Summer was an album that was more geared towards the country genre. Decker's second album, announced in the form of Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records was shelved after Mercury noticed the weak performance of three singles by Decker in country radio's charts.
